Traces of Breath is a live performance piece by Alina Mnatsakanian and Barbara Minder. This improvisational collaboration features Alina Mnatsakanian creating live drawings on a tablet, which are then projected onto the walls, while Barbara Minder accompanies her with music played on augmented instruments.
The evolving visuals generate ephemeral audio-visual environments that engage the audience. Together, Mnatsakanian and Minder explore eight significant places that have shaped their lives, influenced by personal choices, political shifts, and pivotal moments. These places form the basis for each performance, where randomly paired visual and audio elements create a starting point, mirroring the unpredictable nature of life’s journey.
